ATLANTA, GA, Beginning June 7, David Goldberg, President of Edge Studio ‐‐ a leading studio specializing in spoken‐voice recording, casting, and training of voice‐over talent ‐‐ will hold a series of workshops. David Goldberg’s ears are considered among the best in the industry, and he is one of the country's most active voice‐over producers, instructors, and speakers. Since founding Edge Studio in 1988, he has directed thousands of voice‐over productions nationally and internationally, and now he is taking a tour in search of new talent.

In addition to Atlanta, GA, Mr. Goldberg’s tour includes visits to Orlando, Chicago, and Washington, DC. In each city, David will offer workshops that will consist of two sessions. The first session is designed for beginners who want to discover if voice‐over is for them. The second session, designed for budding voice over actors, consists of three parts: marketing, auditioning and script reading. Attendees can register for either day, or both.

David and everyone at Edge Studio lives and breathes virtually every conceivable aspect of the voice over industry. There are some 30 genres of voice‐over, ranging from documentary, audiobook, animation, radio/TV commercials, and Web audio; to telephone‐system menus, recorded announcements, and museum tours, and all sorts of narration including TV programs, training videos, and corporate sales presentations. It’s any spoken‐word recording where the voice‐actor isn’t speaking on‐camera. (And sometimes even then, when the actor’s voice is replaced.)

“The voice‐over field is a relatively young industry, continually evolving, and continuing to grow,” according to Mr. Goldberg. “For example, new developments include gaming and software apps.” As a result, producers, businesses and talent representatives are always seeking new voice‐over talent. Today there’s plenty of work for both genders and all ages, and David looks forward to meeting many aspiring and emerging actors on Edge Studio’s City Tour 2013.
